Re: [CHICKENS-101] Nats

I'd use organic horse spray and fog it.

Found out they are Buffalo Nats. They can wipe out huge flocks quite fast by sucking blood and they get into the airways and kill the bird. Spraying a natural type or kid safe bug spray like Off on the flock and house area is recommended.Adams flea/tick spray is another treatment.Fans to blow in the run/coop deters them.Burning hanging citronella metal potted candles can help BUT be careful doing that. They come out during the day and cause trouble for about 4 weeks a year. Many use vanilla, water, olive oil to spray flock.A couple people used Bag Balm rub on hands then lightly wiped on the birds top half...I have passed what I found out onto the people with the problem.Hoping they get it under control fast. Many options and I am sure more will be posted.. Tina,
I am guessing you are referring to gnats, small flying insects.
Please offer some detail on how your client is losing birds to the gnats.
Thank you
