The feed I give them has calcium in it, also all 9 are basically 1 year old give or take a couple weeks.
I guess I could give them oyster shell, I do have a smaller spare feeder.
Thanks

Do you give them cracked oyster shells or some other source of calcium? Feed it separately, so they do not eat more than then need. They seem to eat only what/when they need calcium for me, as I feed it in a separate feeder always available to them. The oyster shell I use are VERY cheap—only 59 cents for 50 pounds!

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Egg Question
OK, I have another oddity.
Every once in a while I get an egg with paper thin shell. It collapses in my hand.
I have 9 Rhode Island Reds, I feed them organic pellets and organic scratch.
I also give them greens from the garden, they have plenty of water, they have a dust bath area.
I get one about every 10 to 15 days.
Any ideas?
Thanks
~Dr.Doug
