I've used the "fly predator" wasps.  There are several companies that sell them.  You base your order on how many of whatever animal you have; they then send you the appropriate sized container of fly predators every month or so through warm weather.  You scatter them around manure piles or similar fly breeding locations, and as soon as the mature wasps hatch, they lay eggs on any fly larvae. 
 
They worked beautifully for me--very noticeable change in the number of flies around.  I haven't even had to order any for a couple of years, but we'll see if that changes (or not) with the chickens around.
