I think all of my chickens are large pure breeds. Orpingtons, Marans, an Aracauna, a RIR and one that I think is an Americauna (she lays blue eggs just like the Aracauna)
Thier offspring will be mixed breeds since all of them run together with two roosters. Will these offspring have be likely to have trouble with being egg bound?

Wheras if you have huybrids, (bred for serious egg laying) They will continue to lay pretty regularily even in winter when there is not nmuch day light hours. But they are prone to getting agg bound (I have had this condition in 4 out of 8 hybrids). I will not chose these type of breeds again as I think it is not fair on them.Jane & co
