I'd give her light now. Not over, but by her. My hens raise chicks fine with support and it saves me having to figure out where/which brooder to put them in the middle of the winter. My serama and silkie hens are broody and hatching right now, and have heat support. When my new serama hens arrived from Jerry, some of them went broody and stole chicks.

Yep, I can give her a heat lamp to help keep them warm. How cold is too cold for the chicks? It gets into the 30's and 40's here at night. Soon, it will be much colder. Would it be best to bring the chicks inside to raise them until they are big enough to go back outside?
