Is it sunny where you are? Could her bum be getting too much sun? If so a spray of blue kote would protect her skin. If it isn't sunny I might put it on anyway if it were my hen.

I've been keeping chickens for eggs for the past 6 years, and have had no health problems up until now. However, one of my hens has lost the feathers on her rear end and the skin is very red. She is eating and doesn't seem to be in pain, but looks awful. None of my books have helped. Any ideas? Lynn in NM
