Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: temps took a nose dive

Horses and chickens all went out today, and are now safely back in.  The chiskens were a bit backed off by the high winds this afternoon--spent quite a bit of time hiding in the corner where the two houses join, and with the wheelchair deck to hide under as well!  But they put themselves to bed as usual.  One window on the coop smashed, but no glass went inside (thanks to the rat-wire over the windows)--not really cold tonight, and it's not by the roosts, so they should be OK.  <g> At least 2 didn't worry about hiding eggs today--there was a second egg in the nest boxes, and one right on the ground under the trailer-tongue of the coop...

Power went off about 3:15, so the generator is purring.  Lots of branches down.  I hope the logging crew holds off going into the woods if it's still windy like this in the morning--I noticed they left early today!

Stay safe, everyone!
