I have a pair of finches. The male Edgar went psycho on Eliza when she started setting a nest. I separated them into 2 different cages in 2 different rooms. Overnight he escaped his cage (I think with help of one of the cats, strangely it's name is Abracadabra.) Edgar made it thru the living room, down the hall and back into the computer room by hisself! Sonny found him the next morning by the cage. Propped open one of the doors and he went right back in.
Couple months ago we had a House Wren who somehow got in our son's room. Still not sure how it made it in. My inside cats don't bat an eye at my inside chickens but the aforementioned one takes a major interest in the finches. He's scared of my house duck!

Went to go outside this morning and there were 2 finches on the back porch. Not sure how they got in. The 4 month old rescue kitten was back there too. He I'm sure came in thru the cat door. Would the finches be able to do that? So weird. Anyway, I opened the outer door and one flew out. The other acted injured, stressed, or stupid. In the process of trying to get it outside the older rescue kitten came in without me realizing jumped in the air and caught it. Surprised me. They get along great with the chickens. No interest in them at all. They hunt mice in and around the coops. I'm glad I don't raise finches.
