I'd used about 30% bleach to water mix with 8 or so drops of the original regular blue Dawn dishsoap in a spray bottle, myself. Can't attest to it's killing them or not, they just all vacated the area *really* fast, never to be seen again since.

Hey Cathryn - I mixed up some of that
bleach & water recipe of yours to try on some of the weeds in the
driveway..........well, I gotta tell you - it makes a terrific wasp/hornet
remover too! 'Tho admittedly when I saw one or two of them in my firewood
storage "shed" then saw the nest of them, JUST as I was about to go in
& stack some more wood inside, I added a very small squirt of Dawn dishsoap
to the mix as well (it makes surfaces kinda slick for them to be able to
land anywhere on).
Opened the door & a window in the
storage area, went back 5 minutes later and they were all gone - not a one in
sight anywhere - and I could safely knock the empty nest down & crush it
under my shoe.
Awesome!! Just *had* to tell you!!!
