Broody hens has nothing to do with "speaking chickens", has to do when your chickens decide to go broody. If your hens go broody and that is ok with you, you leave them alone or make them a separate pen to lay eggs in and raise up their chicks. My chickens decide when to go broody. I can influence going broody with the kind of nesting areas they like and good nutrition. Mine basically go broody when they want too.
