Re: [CHICKENS-101] Introduction

I'm here too, and I probably talk way too much, but I don't really have much of anybody else to talk chicken with.

Had fun yesterday, a fellow helped me move some furniture and before he left I offered him some eggs.  Gave him a tall round oatmeal box full.  He's from the city and started asking me what you could do with them, can you fry or boil them just like other eggs?

Then I realized they are from Marans and Dorkings, with a couple blue ones too, they are huge and real dark brown, and he probably had never seen country eggs before.  At least not like these.  Wait till he breaks a couple and sees the color of the yolks!  My chickens are free range----(I have a good dog).

I bought some in the store last winter and wondered what was wrong with them.  Talk about anemic!  Shells like thin paper.  He'll have fun getting these to break.

I'll see him again in a few days.  It should be fun.
