At home in Idaho, we have starlings, doves, sparrows and at the right time of the year, robins and swallows, although I don't think they come to the chicken's area. The birds that are here at my father's place seem to be healthy. I'm just glad the crows don't come down. I hate those noisy buggers.
I think I would worry more if there were pigeons. Now those are dirty birds.

Doves? I'd have a heart attack if my chickens had doves drinking out of their dishes, much less eating out of them too. They can carry so many zoonoses and avian diseases that you are fortunate to not have problems. Just thinking about it makes me want to put another layer of fencing. I have a huge bag of wild bird netting that has to go up this spring where winter ravaged the old old netting. The main barn pens are done except for one strip of fencing on the one side of the main barn down the middle. There are several more pens to go.
