Doves are pigeons. I was so bummed to find this fact out. Our school didn't allow pigeons because of zoo noses. I checked with my vet and found out I couldn't have a pet dove in my classroom that a parent wanted to gift us.

At home in Idaho, we have starlings, doves, sparrows and at the right time of the year, robins and swallows, although I don't think they come to the chicken's area. The birds that are here at my father's place seem to be healthy. I'm just glad the crows don't come down. I hate those noisy buggers.
I think I would worry more if there were pigeons. Now those are dirty birds.
