Re: [CHICKENS-101] Introduction

Hi Bob, Thank you for the welcome.

My girls aren't producting yet, but I imagine they will be soon.  I do have a
question regarding feeding.  Right now they are still on started food. I've read
and was told by the farm that I purchased the girls from that to change their
food to laying food when they lay their first egg or when they turn 18 weeks
old.  Since the Easter Eggers are two week younger than the Buff's would it be
safe/ok for me to keep them all on the start until the younger ones are 16 weeks
old?

Rania,

Welcome to the group.

I have about 12 Buff Orpingtons and I am very happy with them.  Very good egg
production and the ones that went broody were very good mommas.

I also have 3 Black Australrops and about 12 Silkies and 3 new Naked Neck
Silkies in the brooder.

Common sense is like deodorant. People who need it seldom use it.
