I doubt you could find insurance for a chicken. Dogs/cats are more like
members of a family. They sleep in our beds, ride in our cars, and live in
our hearts. As fond as I am of my chickens, I would not do this. They are
too easily replaced. We have a barred Plymouth rock which we believe is a
bit more than just a chicken, but I wouldn't insure her either.
If you have a show bird which you make money on, that might be different. I
don't know a thing about this.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Random Question
Hi everyone,
I have pet insurance on my two cats. Now that I have 4 hens, I'm wondering
if it's worth it to find insurance for my hens? I don't know what kind of
illnesses or ailments they can get. Any thoughts or opinions?
Thanks,
Rania
