Feed should smell like cereal, good. I'd feed almost anything except a purina made feed. If you till in the lime it should be fine to use. If you post your area members can help you out with brands.
I use crushed limestone non slip barn lime if I do not want to till it into the soil. Hydrated lime is fine, just make sure you work into the soil.

What kind of feed do you recommend? I got what Tractor Supply carries. I have other feed stores I can go to. The feed is not bad. It just smells sour.
What about the hydrated lime?
