Jenny, All hens and pullets pass these little eggs called wind eggs. With good feed and supplemented small amounts of protein and other nutrients in the form of treats, your hens should lay a good while. They may be getting ready to molt if they haven't yet. Two year old hens do better with 18% protein than 16%. You are buying your feed in small bags so it does lose it's nutrients before it is used up? Lack of enough nutrients can cause wind eggs too.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Yolkless egg
Hi all,
I have 3 hens and get 2 eggs per day normally. I recently got a tiny little egg (smaller than when they first started laying) and it had no yolk. I know all the hens previously laid proper, large, yolked eggs. Is this a sign that one has simply passed her prime (they're warrens and I got them at point of lay this time 2 years ago), or is it indicative of something else?
Thanks for any advice,
Jenny
