A couple of weeks ago one of my three chickens seemed sick. She had real watery poops, her comb was hanging to the side and she was not eating. I put her on sulmet for 6 days, forced electrolytes, and got her to eat a little oatmeal. After a couple days she started feeling better and eating and drinking again. Her poops became normal again and all was well. yesterday I noticed she was not hanging with the other two hens. She didn't come running for scratch and her comb started hanging again. Today she is by herself again. She does not want to eat-picks food up but then drops it. She has a bit of poop stuck on her butt, but it looks normal consistency. She stopped laying during the first round and has only laid one egg while she was feeling better.I gently felt around her bottom end and it feels soft and squishy, actually squishier than my other two hens-I compared. She is so very skinny, her breast is all bones. She and my other two get put up at night, but free range during the day. She is 2.5 years old and an orpington. any advice?I think I am going to lose her. oh she has this weird presence like she is stoned -as in on drugs, she is aware, but just not mentally there.Slow and sluggish. I can't stand to think she is slowly starving to death. Last time I tried all kinds of her favorite food to entice her which didn't work. I haven't tried that yet this go around. Thanks for any help.
