RE: [CHICKENS-101] how are you handling the heat in your coops, runs, and free rage

 

The three hens in the dog kennel are under the trees and seem to be handling it pretty well. I give them ice in their water on bad days. The hen with chicks are more in the direct sun. We have a tarp over the run area that we flip from side to side according to where the sun is. We also have a fan on them and ice in their water. I have also been giving them chilled watermelon and stuff. So far so good.
