Thanks for your question (and also for the other response). You know what? I just don't remember. The eggs weren't especially clean, but weren't filthy either. I just had so many and I needed to do something with them, so I put them in the container. Was I clear that the mold was on the INSIDE of the egg? Not on the outside? And not on the egg itself. Just the shell.

Just popping in 'cause I'm curious about something with this...........did you wash the eggs so maybe take the bloom off of them causing them to be more open to bacteria's getting inside?
