Our newly renovated Coop is 10' X 6 ' with a 5 foot yard that wraps around the coop. Inside is comprised of two shelves all the away around. The lowest level is three feet up from the floor. The top level has a chicken ladder for sleeping attached to the top shelf and the other end is attached to the ceiling on the other side. We have located all the nesting boxes on the first shelf.
Problem: About 1/2 of the chickens are using the nesting boxes for night time sleeping and are pooping like "no tomorrow" in the nesting boxes.
What do we do? We would like the nesting boxes be used for nesting boxes.
