First off, yesterday we got TEN eggs from our 11 hen flock... yeay! someone else is starting to lay! we are almost up and running on all cylinders!!
one was tiny as can be and hubby confirmed it was another guinea eggs SO that means EITHER the ONE guinea hen we have laid two very different ( color)eggs the same day OR one of our "male" guineas is a female... (after opening them we confirmed they are both guinea ( shell texture - thickness)
AND I "sold" my first dozen eggs to a co-worker... now that we are getting between 6-10 eggs a day and we are full up on pickeled eggs I can stand to sell or donate some occaissionally ...
Honestly i sorta thought we would lose more in the raising process and end up with fewer than the 11 hens we have ... Will contact the local food bank and see if they want our excess...
