I disagree totally...I use regular sized grit for everything over a week.
Grit is required---
But how are you defining free range? No tracotr...no protection....just
wander anywhere
On your property at will?

Sorry, but grit is needed to help their gizzard "chew up" their
food. It does nothing for hardening shells.
