Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: barley - was cabbage (was /snow)

Cassie, This is not the first GMO wheat - Hawaii has been used to grow GMO wheat and other grains for several years.

I have seen this.  GMO wheat  is not at are grain elevators.  The wheat found in Oregon was a white wheat which is the wheat that Japan and Korea are avoiding. They are not buying any white wheat grown in the Pacific Region.
There are several kinds of wheat.  You need to learn about wheat, they types, where they are grown, and where organic and non GMO wheat is tested and sold.  Right now you can buy non GMO wheat and other tested grains without any problems.  I know I buy it. To say  all wheat is GMO is completely, and totally inaccurate. If you are worried about the white wheat in your area being contaminated then buy hard or soft red wheat.
Please do your research and not make blanket statements.  There is no one who hates GMO grains more than I do. I put my money where my mouth is and make donations to fight it, write letters to my senators and reps, and sign petitions. Here is one news article I saved.  There is much out there to read.

I have researched this and bought wheat from my source where the wheat is tested.  Farmers are not growing GMO wheat nor are they pouring herbicides on it.
