We've never used anything on our lawn, either--in the 57 years I've lived here. I let all the lawn clippings dry last summer, bagged them, and have been using them for bedding in the coop. They, too, seem to love it! And the neat thing is that at least half of the eggs I get are still almost orange in the yolks--not the usual paler winter yolks. I wonder if the greens, dried though they are, make the difference.
