im in northern Arkansas where we just went through a really really bad ice and snow storm. the high today is finally near 60 but the lows are still at or below 32. I have a sweet little hen who has gone broody. she gathers up as many as she can get and starts setting. she turned about 2 weeks ago during the worse part of the weather. I have NEVER had one go broody this early, and I keep taking her eggs; and I am even talking to her and telling her its too cold and she wont hatch or if she did, they would die. nothing is working. I DO want her to go broody in another month or so, but not now. any suggestions on how I can stop her now, but not discourage her for later??
