Re: [CHICKENS-101] Fw: What were they thinking?

When GMO crop spray is carried over by the wind and kills hives, that is a serious concern.  The Mayan farmers lost 1500 hives from it.  It is not always the crop pollen but what is put on it, that is extremely harmful.

Just my wee small voice from the wilderness: as a beekeeper I've been watching the discussions taking place concerning colony collapse and the root cause.  Talking the hard science here: one the things that keeps coming up is the build up of pesticides and herbicides in the bees' pollen stores.  although GMOs may be an easy thing to point at and may be the source of other problems, the science and evidence is weighted more toward pesticide/herbicide cocktail that eventually causes neural damage and death to the colony.
Corn pollen is one of the least nutritious and is at the bottom of bee food choices.  So is the GMO corn pollen the source of bee colony loss in this area?  I think I would also be looking at how the so called Green Revolution was applied to the land.
