I splurged and spent a buck yesterday on a head of lettuce. Arriving
back home, I tore off a number of leaves and then them into smaller
chunks. Heaved them over the fence and the chickens were delighted
with thier unexpected treat. Someone else mentioned hanging a head of
cabbage in the coop, but this works for me.
