Rita. Mine are going thru the apples faster than I can haul them here.  My father sorted more apples and told me he has 2 more boxes of wrinkled, small apples for them.  Cabbage is too expensive to buy a dozen heads at a time; the minimum I need at a time.  
Glad your neighbor helped out.  Staples?  Ouch!  Did Bob have heart surgery and that is why he is stapled?

Ours must have started around 5:00 A.M.--I was up around 4:30 and there was still nothing, but when we got up there was already several inches. As expected, the girls took one look and returned to scratching in the litter! I should go back and see if they've finished their head of cabbage. Even the horses don't seem too upset about staying in for now. It was approximately 7" when I was out at noon, and hasn't let up.
