My problem is I live on a wild life preserve and there are lots of red fox and maybe some greys also in there. I have seen the red ones. I think one of them got my favorite girls two years ago, I left the door open. these animals don't bother me much I sometimes see the remnant of them on my deck but they are not too destructive. Only the one time they killed my chicken.

My bantams recently took to roosting in the sequoia in our backyard. Theyve just become old enough/big enough to make the flight. I call them my unruly teenagers staying out all night, they seem quite content in this. They fly down every morning when I let my red hen out to free roam in our backyard. We have no dogs or cats hanging about our yard - only squirrels that seem more intimidated by the chickens than the chickens intimidated by them.
