That is sweet, I had one that was half Polish and half banty they did not know what kind, she was in between sizes. She was pure black with wonderful glistening colors,
But when they were just starting I went into the coop and sat on a seat out in there and she just jumped right up on my knee, she would jump up on my shoulder when she got older.
I think she taught the other one to run after me. When I brought out some treats she would not eat until I pet her first then she would go eat, she needed me to say hello.

Thank you. I can't take too much credit, I think it is part of the silkie personality. I can picture your lakenvelder! LOL! Aren't chickens fun?
Last year I took my serama Wheaties and a silkie to school with chicken diapers. My students went nuts over them. The birds were content to be held and babied. My students and staff were amazed at how personable chickens are and how much they talked to the children in chicken chatter.
