Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Do any of you let your hens roost outside in the trees?

We really do not have raccoons around here, mostly foxes, dogs, hawks and owls.
My pug jumped a hawk as it was trying to take off with my hen I got so scared I thought it would turn and take my pug, he is not very large, Or at bet jab his eyes out.
He saved her, it was amazing, the hawk dropped her s he tried to take off and my dog jumped  him again and the hen went flying over the fence and landed on the ground, he ran and fell over her body, I thought she was dead but she started to scream horribly I had to put her in the coop, as soon as I calmed her down, she stayed there for three days and did not come out.
She was fine but he came back a few years later and got her, I could not get to them in time.

Raccoons are good climbers too and they're "almost dogs" being the genus Procyon ("pre-dog")!
