I use waxed paper. Any problems with it? I cut it to fit the bottom and use a couple of layers so I can slip out the dirty one after the hatch. The chicks stay in the bator for the first 24 hours. Susan

Bacteria causes a lower hatch rate. put a trash bag in the bottom and the hatch will be much better.
