[CHICKENS-101] Re: wing clipping

They have a coop about 6x9 by 10 ft high which opens into a run about 8x16. I also give them access to the larger stall and the fenced pasture. Would adding more height to the large goat stall help? It is currently about 4 1/2 high.--- In CHICKENS-101@yahoogroups.com, CathrynTherese <cathryntherese@...> wrote:

If there is a predator there is a good chance that they will not be able to get away.

Their stall opens to the outside and also into a much larger stall that houses one goat. (my other had to be put down about a month ago :( ) They fly over the rail into the main part of the barn. They have the dirt floor all full of holes and gaps to the outside! They go upstairs and poop all over! I just want them to stay out of the main barn! They have loads of room! I am worried that if I clip their wings they won't be able to roost. I also don't want them stressed out. They are beautiful healthy chickens with no pecking discernible order . We get 6 eggs most days and really like them! (both the chickens and the eggs!)
