Diane,
How long do you leave it in the sun? Would one day be enough? How
do you clean the top part of your incubator (the part with the heater, fan,
etc).

i clean the small foam incubators with soap and water and a splash of
Clorox, and hot sun if possible. Yes, somehow they do build up bacteria that
gets in the eggshells and kills the chicks about halfway through the
incubation.

Take it from at least 2 of us, no need to learn it the hard way yourself. I
did have good luck with the Clorox and hot sun. Next batch hatched fine.
