Remember, the egg is porous. Anything in the air can and will enter the egg which is full of lovely nutrients for the pathogen to consume and grow in.

It was running hot no matter what I did so I ordered a new replacement wafer which just arrived yesterday and it has now been keeping a steady temperature. There was some past evidence of mold on the styrofoam but I took it apart and thought I cleaned it up pretty good with soap & water (I read that I shouldn't use bleach or chemicals to clean it with). What will/might happen because of bacteria?
