Re: [CHICKENS-101] Getting the kids out of the house

Here is what I do: You'll need a blue feather duster named The Monster.  Wave it at them, as soon as they are out, shut the doors and windows so they cannot get back in until you are done.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Getting the kids out of the house

With the warmer weather, I've been wanting to give the chicken house a top to bottom cleaning. That means of course getting everybody out so I can give things a good scrubbing and let it dry. The trouble is when you have 15 nosy Parkers (whatcha doin? what's that? Can we eat that? why are you doing that? can we help? look! we're helping!), it makes it hard to be thorough.

I put the feedbox out in the yard. they watched from the doorway. I put the waterer out in the yard. they watched from the doorway. I waited in a lawnchair on the opposite side of the yard hoping to entice them out. played peak-a-boo at the doorway but wouldn't come out. Mealworms? the older girls loved it, the younger ones were vaguely interested but only grabbed and ran back into the house. Any ideas on how to get the little busybodies out so I can get a little work done?
