This heart-breaking scenario is always a possibility when anybody untrained takes on the task of shooting - it's imperative that all family members be trained to shoot with caution and be focused on the target. We had no choice once but to shoot towards our silo so my husband aimed high and only shot through the cap. Otherwise he (and by his training, myself and our son) has always been slow to shoot and sure of the target. Cindy 'Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.' Psalm 51:10-12 --- On Wed, 1/27/10, Flyingafarm1@ We have weapons here if needed, but I do a "wait to shoot" if possible. Please keep in mind that bullets don't miss, ever. They do always hit something. Some folks we used to show horses with had coyotes show up at their barn. Their (20's) son decided to blast away with his .22. The coyotes ran away. They later went in the barn to find their beloved multiple National Champion mare Onyx dying of gunshot wounds. It was a heartbreaking lesson :-( |
