I do head counts before I shut the Silkies up but with only 16 birds in the chicken house and 3 colors of Silkies it's pretty easy - 1, 3, 4 & 6. My space is small and they are all right in front of me. Do you think they didn't all come in last night? Is it a solid building? No spaces where something could get in? When I had the Hubs cut a hole through the air vent to run an extension cord into the chicken house he made the much larger than needed and I said I'd put duct tape over the open space but it never happened. Need to do that!

Not sure.................it sure is strange though that they could just disappear like that. I checked the entire back 2/3 acre and there are no feathers anywhere. Of course a lot of folks know that I have relatively rare chickens here so who knows.
