My hens have always slept, pooped and laid their eggs in their nesting box since day one – and ignore their roosting bars!!

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] nesting boxes
The adolescent chickens I bought are roosting in/on the nesting boxes and pooping in them...I'm thinking they don't like the roost...or the roosters and the bigger hens are kicking them off the roost. Unfortunately, the older hens are now finding other places to lay (the barn, under the porch) because their boxes are poopy. Any ideas? Thanks, Dawn
