I'm so sorry. They were in a closed coop? I worry about things like that using the screen houses. They are secure enough to keep chickens in, but not predators out. The 'Compu-Coop' gives them security from things that are not strong enough to tip it over, or smart enough to raise the door. Plus something could dig a hole easily. Sigh, I guess they aren't really secure at all.
Let us know what you find out.

I had a very strange thing happen over night. I went out to feed this morning and my blue salmon favorolles came running out as usual but it didn't seem like they were all there. I checked and found one dead hen in the nest. No marks, no feathers nothing wrong. Then it seemed as if there still weren't enough and I checked further and found that two more are missing. Not there, no feathers, no signs of any struggle nothing. Now I know for a fact that a bird could not have come down in the pen because 1/2 is covered with a tarp for the rain and the other half has the coop. Electric wire all around, no holes nothing. Just gone......... Another mystery. These are my breeders for hatching eggs so I guess I will have to hatch some more for myself. Darn it. Gina :-( --
