[CHICKENS-101] Integrating young chicks

Hi All,

You have all been so helpful to me regarding chicks that I am planning to order.  Thank you!

I have a new question.  I'll be getting 13 or 15 new chicks and will keep them inside for  a few weeks (early April?) then to a separate house and run outside sometime in April or early May.

Their new outside run will be next to the run of my  flock of 13 older aracaunas -- varying in age from 1 to 2 years old.

At what age can I put the young chicks in with the old aracaunas?  I read that there are diseases that can be deadly to young chicks if they get exposed to them too soon.

BUT I'm hoping I can integrate the two flocks at some point.  Will this work?

Thanks again for your help.  Is there a good book I could read on all of this so I don't keep bugging you all?

Truly,
