Pumpkins need at least 80-85 days before frost here in MI. Once daylight hours shorten in Sept. a mold comes in with the rains. This year I am ready I have dissolvable sulfur and hydrolyzed lime to mix and spray them with. I planted late and will not get many orange ones. It's ok, they are for the chickens. Need to spray my cherry tree tonight with the same after I look up the ratios; it has powdery mildew.
Another good chicken food plant are zuchinis and summer squash. My mom told me my plants at their house are loaded. I stick them in the frig and feed them cold when it is hot out. Pumkins and squash are not cold weather plants here.
My cabbage and kohlrabi seeds are sitting on the coffee table wishing I'd remember to take them out to the garden. This is gross - I have been putting dog feces in the aisle of the garden and along the sides and back because of the darn deer and woodchucks. It's helped some. I need to get to tN and get my great pyr.
