I will be coming back from TN with 5 more single comb red silkie males that need a home. I am hoping people along the way will adopt them. These are from her huge hatch last year that I did not have room for. For some reason there seems to be a higher incidence of single combs with the Netherland reds bred to the Amos Rovey red bloodline until a coupleofgenerations have been bred, then it pretty much goes away. You adopted a couple too.
(Mr. Rovey passed away many years ago and I still have a few off spring from this bloodline that putrina did not manage to wipe out.) They are sweet birds and can't come home with me. I kept two for pets I brought home last year, that come to me to be petted and are adorable acting. Would you help me try to find homes?

Cathryn....I see no injury other than missing some feathers....there are no cuts, blood, or bruises. I have no vitiman E, but need to restock on chick feed in morning for my silkie chick, so can get some. I do not think it is a predator, the pen they are in is close to the house, and I have never had anything try to get in. I was smart when hubby built it and we put the tiny chicken wire on it and the 'coop' above it, so they can get in there several feet of the ground that has no access unless you can unlick the door...I am thankful for that!
Since you are the silkie expert, question for you please......How did I end up with a beautiful black silkie in a pen with only my reds and whites, lol?!?!?
TY!!!!
