I am very pro-gun....so long as you know what you're doing (I took training lessons from a licensed teacher/detective) and have no nefarious reasons for owning one. ;) There is NO way I would live on a farm where there are animals that rely on me for protection without having a gun somewhere in the house. Yes. We own three. None of them are loaded, all are kept well hidden so no children (or criminals) could come across them. I know how to load and use all three (although I leave any killing to my husband because he's a better shot and I don't want to maim, but to humanely kill).

I don't believe in just arbitrarily killing every wild creature that crosses my path.....quite the contrary, our farm is posted as a sanctuary and we allow zero hunting. I am very happy to coexist with foxes, coons, and whatever else happens to share our farm. BUT....when they go outside of their normal food chain and start breaking into well-built, secure pens and killing/maiming my pets, then they have to leave. First we try Havahart traps and rehome to a nearby state lands. If that doesn't work, then yep, we 'humanely dispose' of them.

If I am not willing to kill in order to protect those that are in my care and unable to fend for themselves, then I don't believe I should own them in the first place.

Just my opinion,
Bobbye
PS: I really do believe that "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."
