Hi Mike,
I have electric fence around my chicken coop fence to stop predators, if I did not have it, I would have no chickens. You really need to use it 24/7 as many predators will come during the day. Fox are especially noted for hiding and watching until all is clear then grabbing chicken, ducks, even full grown geese That fence you posted a link to is to stop your dogs, it is not for wild predators. You need to go to a farm supply to find fencing to protect from wild animals.

With this new coop and run project this Spring I am really considering an electric fence around the whole thing to be used only at night. Fencing about 3-4 inches off the ground then another strand about 6 inches above that. Here is one: http://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/fencing/electric-fences/havahart-above-ground-electric-fence-kit/p-1443391-c-9552.htm THANKS!! Mike
