Kelly, On second thought. the last antibiotic shot I had for strep a couple of weeks ago hurt so bad, I could not walk for hours.  Your hen's shot of penicillin would hurt like that too.  Get the silvadene on it and check with Victor at Twin City Poultry Supply, ok?  He'll know what to use to so the infection does not spread and if you need an antibiotic shot or oral antibiotic or not. You can even take a picture of it and send it to him.  My guess is she does because the blister is inflamed and red.  Staph is a nasty germ.

I have silvadene and will try that. Her roost is 2x4 rounded. The skin is red, but don't have the antibiotic on hand at the moment. Is that something you can buy "over the counter."  Not sure about the color or odor. I guess I will find that out tomorrow. Thanks for the info!!
