My roos also got some comb frostbite last winter, despite a pretty well insulated coop--probably when they were outside, I don't know. I've understod that those with large combs are more prone to it, while the "hardy" breeds simply haven't got as much exposed comb. If you can get hold of your roos (I couldn't!) the advice is to coat the comb with some vaseline. (Works for the hens as well.)
