Re: [CHICKENS-101] Frost bite?

At what temp does one need to start getting concerned? In So. Cal. Though the day time temps can be balmy - at night, it can dip down into the 20s-30s. I have a bunch of Brown / Danish Brown Leghorns with those whopping huge combs. They are, of course, the hardest to catch, being flighty and all.

I not only use hay, but shredded paper also. Lots of junk mail gets recycled that way for sure. I also have a 40 watt bulb surrounded by a concrete block that their water dish sits on and it sits towards the middle of the coop area for anyone wanting extra warmth.
