My husband and I are in our late 60's.We live mostly on Social Security and Ed's part time job welding. I have high medical bills and sometimes times can be really bad for us. Our ladies give us eggs, and most importantly they make us smile and feel good just watching them run around and be chickens.
They provide enough eggs so I can sell some and buy the feed and shavings for the coop, they provide fertilizer for our vegetable garden so we get lots of fresh veggies that I can and freeze, and we can sit outside and just watch them chase bugs and grumble to each other. Even our 2 old cats like sitting in the yard when the girls are outside.

After a day of teaching/working with emotionally impaired, ADHHHDDDHHDD Learning Disabled 10-14 year olds, it's a stress reliever to come home to my birds to relax and for entertainment.
